About Us

Helping Consumers Make Informed Decisions

First and foremost thank you for taking the time to find my site; I'm glad you did because there's a lot of misinformation online, and as a result countless sugar gliders die prematurely within their first year or two  of life with their new family.

This misinformation is largely perpetuated by the exotic pet brokers and dealers only interested in how much money they can make at the animals' expense.

The majority of these deaths are diet related and could have been prevented had the owners known the truth about sugar glider diets.

Here at Knoxville Sugar Gliders we give you the FACTS and then let you make an informed decision about glider ownership.

DIET is extremely important to the overall health and wellbeing of your sugar glider.

They must have a soft diet that is formulated with the right supplements that were designed  for the specific diet.

What We Do

Strawberry Cremeinos!! Look at that rich color coming back!! She's got a one in 3 chance of no Leu.

We are a small-scale business located in Knoxville, Tennessee.  What began as  hobby-breeding in 2013 turned into a full-time job and business in 2017.

We produce Black Beauty, Creme-ino, Silverbell Platinum,  Mosaics & Mosaic Variations of the other colors.

We also Produce Ruby-Leus, a simple double-recessive cross of Leucistic also known as Black-Eyed White (BEW), with Creme-ino colored sugar gliders.

We breed for temperament and desirable body characteristics first and foremost, and then color.

We believe in responsible breeding and enhancing the species. This is done through selective breeding and careful consideration before placing a male and female together.

Why We Do It

Mosaic Male From Frodo Line

As far back as I can remember there have always been animals in my life. My parents had minature poodles, and they would lick my fingers through the spindles of my crib.

As an animal-lover, I pay a lot of attention to my animals and notice early on if there's something not quite right with one of my critters. This was the case with my dear Stella.

Like many of you I purchased a pair of sugar glider joeys from an exotic pet broker that uses a profitable well-known marketing strategy that relies on their customers' lack of knowledge and the "cute factor" of these remarkable animals.

As a result of the misinformation that I was given, I lost my Stella just before she was a year old.

I became very passionate about these animals and the completely unnecessary end that so many of them see, not to mention the unnecessary heartache it causes.

I decided to start Knoxville Sugar Gliders  to educate as many people as I came into contact with about the proper care and handling of these truly remarkable creatures.
